Jon Nistad CLU, ChFC, MSFA, is the owner of NationalHR, an employee benefits consulting firm that customizes benefit plans and offers
human resource consulting.
NationalHR pioneered medical cost reduction for larger groups by recognizing
that employee lifestyle and medical decisions are what truly affect premiums.
With offices in Marlton, New Jersey, the company has in excess
of 300 clients ranging from two participants, to thousands. Clients include
private and publicly held businesses and non-profit organizations like Chambers
of Commerce, Bar Associations, and the Girl Scouts.
Nistad began his career as a group insurance sales representative with Aetna,
consistently leading the Philadelphia sales office in new cases. He has also
worked for UNUM and for Massachusetts Mutual, where he won awards for production.
Having earned his B.A. from Dartmouth with a major in economics, Nistad continued
on to the Boston University Graduate School of Business. While at Dartmouth,
he was a member of the Ivy League Championship Baseball and Football teams,
and was an NCAA Division One All-East Linebacker.
He obtained the designations of Chartered Life Underwriter, Chartered Financial
Services Consultant and Master of Financial Science from the American College
in Bryn Mawr, PA, and participates in continuing education in medical cost
reduction, medical plan design and other employee benefit issues.
Nistad’s interests include physical fitness, tennis and bicycling. He
has been ranked Number 1 in tennis in New Jersey in the 35, 40, 45 and 55 age
brackets, and is nationally ranked in tennis in both the 55 and older, and
Father & Son categories.
